One week and one day after Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller went down with a season ending shoulder injury in practice, he will undergo surgery to repair the torn labrum.
Coach Urban Meyer, at his weekly press briefing said Miller's surgery will be Tuesday down in Florida with the operation performed by Dr. James Andrews.
Despite Miller's absence from the playing field this year, he has not be forgotten by his Buckeye teammates. Meyer said Miller was the leading vote-getter in the players vote for captain.
Fellow seniors Jeff Heuerman, Michael Bennett, Curtis Grant and Doran Grant will also serve as captains.
The Buckeyes open the season in Baltimore against Navy on Saturday at noon on the CBS Sports Network.
